Disease Progression Study Design

This clinical study used a retrospectively collected cohort with prospective endpoints to predict disease progression within 8 years after prostate cancer diagnosis. The model was developed using clinical-pathological features retrospectively collected using de-identified patient information. Only patients with complete clinical-pathological, morphometric, and molecular data, as well as non-missing outcome information, were further studied. In the final analysis, the total number of evaluable patients used for training the model was 686.

Validation

The model was validated using an external cohort of 341 patients. Similar to the training study, patients missing clinical-pathological, morphometric, molecular data or outcome data were removed from the cohort.
